Oliver marries
Himself
Oliver had a mid-life crisis, he
realized he wasn’t happy alone therefore he married himself. In my opinion, I
believe Oliver is going to be surprise when he faces the challenges of marriage
by himself.
When we read Charlie Fish’s story,
we got the idea that marriage with oneself can be even more challenging than
with another person. When in marriage you have to learn to compromise between
your needs and wants and your spouse’s. You have to be each other’s support
system; but when you’re marry to yourself you have to be all of that for your
own self. Sometimes that may be harder than you think.
Charlie’s story ended when he
realized he wanted to share his life with another person and build a family. Due
to this, Oliver eventually got a divorce and marry another person but what I
think he should do, once he reaches that state, is to take a marriage counseling;
because if you want to be with someone you should first learn to be with yourself.
